A few months ago, my buddy and I purchased this scope. I have hand loaded and shot 350 rounds in both a 270 WSM and 300 WSM with great success. So far, we have shot at 100, 300, 400, and 500 yards with great accuracy and the XP5 always returns to zero. The glass is clear 100%, in the entire power range. Will I buy another XP5...YES!!! Do I recommend this scope...YES!!!

  • Great buy. I had bought myself a nice long range rifle and wound up putting a vx 3 8.5-25x50 lr that I borrowed from my 223. I just never had the money to go big on another scope for the new rifle. I remembered how much I liked my Clearidge rimfire scope, so I finally decided to try out the XP5. There is very little info out there on this scope, so I felt it was a gamble to order this scope. Long story short, I am very pleased with this scope. The glass is really nice. Hands down, Clearidge can not be beat at their price point. My opinion is thar the Leupold is just a little clearer, but the XP5 is really close for a heck of a lot less money. I\\'ve decided to ditch my 1\\" tube VXIII and go with the Clearidge XP5 in 2-12x42 instead on another rifle. The 30mm tube makes a big difference.

  • I picked this scope up a couple years ago for my FN SPR in 308. It replaced a good Nikon Monarch, that just was not getting it done. It is hands down better than the Monarch and very close in optical quality to my VX3 8.5-25x50LR. I have found Clearidge to be an awesome bargin. I have the 3-9 Clearidge for my squirrel gun, and it is also very impressive as well. Factor in the warranty, and these scopes have become my favorite brand of scope.
