Vortex Spitfire Prism Sights for AR Platforms and Mid-Range Shooting
Vortex Spitfire prism sights are built for shooters who want the speed of a compact optic with an etched reticle that remains visible even when illumination is turned off. The prism design provides a different sight picture from a conventional red dot and can be useful for shooters who prefer a defined reticle for close- to mid-range work on an AR platform.
Choosing a Spitfire depends on whether true 1x handling or fixed magnification better fits the rifle. The Spitfire AR emphasizes fast close-quarters target acquisition, while Spitfire HD Gen II models add magnification and an HD optical system for shooters who want more reach. Because prism sights use an etched reticle, they are a different solution from pairing a standard red dot with a magnifier.
